Open an investor account in the Dubai Financial Market
The Dubai Financial Market (DFM) and Nasdaq Dubai are open to investors of any nationality and in any country. Any individual or institution can open an investor account in the Dubai Financial Market and then apply for an investor number from CSD in Dubai in order to trade securities listed on the Dubai Financial Market. Apply for an investor number
1- Electronic services
To open an investor account, you can now simply access the DFM smart services application and apply for it, or you can submit the required form and documents via DFM electronic services
Register for electronic services on the Dubai Financial Market website or the Dubai Financial Market electronic services application
- Enter your username and password
- Click on electronic orders
- Choose the type of request and fill in the details
- Attach the required documents and click on “Submit Application”.
- You will be notified of the status of the request via e-mail
2- Investors Affairs Office in Dubai for depository
This office is located on the ground floor of the Trade Center (Sheikh Rashid Tower), Sheikh Zayed Road, Dubai. Phone: +971 4305 5555. Hours of operation are Monday-Thursday, 8:30am-3:00pm and Friday, 8:30am-12:30pm.
- Submit the required documents
- Sign the investor number application form electronically
- The investor number will be issued directly
- A text message will be sent to the investor on the registered number
(for individuals):
- For UAE nationals and residents: a valid copy of the Emirates ID.
- For non-residents: a valid copy of the passport.
- In addition to some additional documents in one of these cases:
- Minors (less than 21 years old):
- Guardian (father) signature
- A valid copy of the guardian’s passport or Emirates ID
- In the case of a guardian other than the father: A true copy of the guardianship order issued by the court or a notary public
- Guardianship orders issued outside the UAE must be certified by the UAE embassy in those countries or by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Decree holders:
A valid copy of the decree issued by the Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship addressed to Dubai for filing or to whom it may concern
agent:
- A valid copy of a duly legalized power of attorney issued by the court or notary
- A valid copy of the representative’s passport or Emirates ID
- The power of attorney issued by other countries must be attested by the official authorities and the UAE embassy in those countries or by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- If the selected payment method is “Bank Transfer”:
- Copy of certified bank statement or bank letter with bank account details clearly stated. The bank account must be in the name of the investor.
Documents required for the account of the heirs:
- True copy of the death certificate
- A certified true copy of the inheritance inventory and legal notification, duly certified
- A valid passport copy (for residents and non-residents) or Emirates National ID card (for UAE nationals and residents) for all heirs and representatives
- A valid copy of a duly attested Power of Attorney issued by the court on behalf of all the heirs in the event that there is an agent
- Any document issued from other countries must be attested by the official authorities and the UAE embassy in those cou5tries or the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- Required documents (companies / institutions / governments / banks / funds / trading members registered in the Dubai Financial Market):
- Investor number application form completed and signed by the authorized signatory
- A valid copy of the trade license and commercial register
- True copy of the Memorandum of Association
- A duly authorized signatory letter issued by the company
- A valid copy of the Emirates National ID (for UAE nationals and residents) or a valid passport copy) for residents and non-partners/authorized signatories
- Bank statement or certified bank letter, the bank account must be in the name of the company
In the case of the box:
Within the country: a license letter duly certified by the Central Bank
Outside the country: documents certified by the official authorities
In the case of the bank:
Within the country: a license letter duly certified by the Central Bank
Outside the country: documents certified by the official authorities
If he is a trading member registered in the Dubai Financial Market:
An official letter issued by the Market Operations Department in the Dubai Financial Market approving the opening of an investor number in the Dubai Financial Market
3- Trading member
You can contact a brokerage firm licensed by the Dubai Financial Market to obtain an investor number on your behalf by filling out the investor number application form and attaching the required documents.
Appointment of a mediator
After obtaining an investor number, designate a licensed broker by opening a trading account and completing the necessary forms.
The broker performs trading transactions (buying and selling) based on your instructions.
