Tripadvisor has just published the ranking of the 10 most beautiful beaches in the world: Spiaggia dei Conigli, in Lampedusa, is in 10th place but is considered the first in Europe
Also this year, Tripadvisor has compiled its ranking of the most beautiful beaches in the world based on the quality and quantity of reviews published by travelers over a 12-month period. Alongside these, the award takes into account many other items such as accommodations, destinations, geographical areas based on the evaluation and reviews of travellers. Our wonderful Italy has a worthy representative: in the world’s top ten is Spiaggia dei Conigli di Lampedusa, which is also recognized as the most beautiful beach in Europe and the winner of the prestigious “Best of the Best” award.
1. place for Grace Bay
With more than 7,200 reviews to date with 90% 5-star ratings, Grace Bay beach located on the northeastern coast of the island of Providenciales in the Caribbean Sea wins. Calm and shallow waters thanks to the nearby coral reef, in addition to the beaches, the trump card is the marine landscape: kilometers and kilometers of coral reefs are located close to the shore and easily accessible by boat. An absolutely idyllic setting. 2. place is Varadero, in Cuba
Also known as Playa Azul, the beach of Varadero on Cuban territory has a strip of land of 30 km of which 22 consist only of beach of a mixed color, gold and pink. Unanimously, it is considered the most beautiful in the Cuban archipelago. “Perfect postcard. The water was the bluest I’ve ever seen and the sand was as white as powder,” wrote a traveler who spent a few days on vacation in that little paradise on earth.
3. place Turquoise Bay, Australia
Turquoise Bay has repeatedly been recognized as one of Western Australia’s best beaches: located 60km south of Exmouth, it is famous for its clear virgin waters that wash onto the white sand beaches. As mentioned at the beginning, last but not least in this world ranking is our Spiaggia dei Conigli, in Lampedusa, also considered the most beautiful in Europe. Better than the Caribbean and comparable, if not even better, to Polynesia and the most famous tropical landscapes, one of the most beautiful and admired beaches in the world is found in our country.
The beach is located in a spectacular bay with crystal clear waters entirely surrounded by a very low cliff which welcomes the typical Mediterranean flora and fauna. Specifically, this bay is one of the few places where the “Caretta Caretta” turtles lay their eggs: for this reason, the cliff is part of the Lampedusa Island Oriented Nature Reserve which protects this species of turtles, as well as all the rest of the Mediterranean fauna. It is the perfect destination for Italians, Europeans and citizens from all over the world especially from April to November. “One of the wonders of the world. White sand beach, turquoise water, fresh sea breeze. Be prepared for a 20 minute walk to get to the beach, but once you are there you feel like you are not on Earth.”
